The messaging app has been working on animated stickers for a while now. The animated stickers feature is now officially launched and users will get their hands on them soon.
The new features include the much wanted dark mode for desktop apps, animated stickers, QR codes to quick-add accounts, and even the ability to long-press on a person’s video tile to expand their area on the screen.

Dark Mode For Desktop
WhatsApp finally rolled out its long-awaited dark mode on Android back in March. However, the web and desktop apps didn’t get it. There was evidence of the desktop app getting dark mode earlier this year and now it’s official. The dark theme is available on the web and the desktop.
Animated Stickers
Stickers are highly popular on WhatsApp, especially for the majority share of users who use WhatsApp for personal chats. Now, alongside static sticker packs, WhatsApp is rolling out new, animated stickers on all of its apps. With animated stickers, WhatsApp is making its platform even more expressive for those who prefer using stickers to communicate.
The platform will further add a video icon in groups with up to eight members. By tapping on the video icon, users will be able to start a group video call directly will all the eight members instead of individually adding them. The company had introduced a similar feature in April where the video icon was added to WhatsApp groups with up to four members.
