OnePlus has announced a new product line of cheaper phones called OnePlus Nord, with the goal of making the “premium OnePlus experience accessible to more users.”
We’ve already heard about a price window and a few other details, and now OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei has confirmed the phone will have a Snapdragon 765G processor in an interview with TechRadar.
The company revealed the basics about OnePlus Nord in the first episode called “New Beginnings” of its short, four-part documentary over on IGTV.

OnePlus Nord Price and Specifications
It’s likely that the price won’t be much below $500 — $499 seems a safe bet — so the affordable OnePlus Nord won’t quite compete with the iPhone SE or Pixel 4a in that respect.
The Snapdragon 765G is an upper mid-range gaming-focused processor, featuring an octacore design (two Cortex-A76 cores and six Cortex-A55 cores) and an Adreno 620 GPU that should deliver smooth gaming. There is a notable gap in performance between the Snapdragon 765G and the Snapdragon 865, our own Rob Triggs found, but it still has plenty of modern high-end features (e.g. 120Hz support, Quick Charge 4+).

OnePlus Nord phone feature a dual front camera
The front, as recently revealed, features a flat panel with a dual-camera punch-hole at the top left. It’s rumored to house a 32MP primary sensor and an 8MP ultra-wide sensor. We can also see the USB Type-C port and SIM tray at the bottom.
Sales and Launch date
The first round of pre-orders has already been and gone, announced in a story on the @oneplus.nord Instagram page in surprise fashion. The second round will go live on July 8 at 10:00 CEST, then the third and final round will happen at the same time on July 15. You’ll need to pay €20/£20 to reserve your Nord, which you’ll get back as a voucher when the phone goes on sale. Some “awesome merch” will be sent your way, too.
OnePlus is expected to announce more details about the first OnePlus Nord phone at a July 10th launch event in India.
