Reliance Jio today launched its new video conferencing platform ‘JioMeet’. Jio had announced the video platform in April during its Q4 results. JioMeet is now available for everyone.
JioMeet lets you send invites for meetings to anyone and they can join without having to download the application. It’s similar to what Zoom does where you don’t have to open a Zoom account to join meetings. JioMeet supports HD video calling and promises good quality even on low bandwidth. The company also said that meetings on JioMeet are encrypted and password protected.

JioMeet offers video conferencing services for up to 100 participants. It also allows users to schedule meetings prior to a conference, which would therefore allow companies to set up pre-scheduled conference meets online. It further includes the option for participants to share screens, therefore allowing live sharing of content across computers. JioMeet will further allow participants to instantly join calls directly from their web browsers.

With the pandemic forcing people indoors, video conferencing apps have gone viral all over the world. Zoom, of course, is the biggest winner in this space.
