Amazon prime introduces "watch party" brings social stream together

new feature allowing simultaneous viewing of film or TV titles up to 100 Prime subscribers.

The host of the co-watching session will be able to start, stop and pause the Watch Party as needed throughout the session, and those changes will also be synced to all participants’ devices instantly.

Amazon’s other streaming service, has a similar feature, those streams are open to the public. Anyone can join a creator’s viewing session as long as they have a Prime account. Prime Video’s new Watch Party feature is entirely private. The host will share a link with family members and friends for people to click and join, similar to Zoom.

Want to get started? Simply head to a title on Amazon Prime you want to start watching, and click on the ‘Watch Party’ button, which should be sat beside ‘Trailer’ and ‘Watchlist’ in the show description. It’s currently rolling out to the US, with wider availability likely in the coming weeks.
