First XDA Phone Runs LineageOS expected in March

Fxtec Pro1-X is the world's first smartphone by XDA collaborated with the team behind F(x)tec and LineageOS to launch the world's first smartphone that runs LineageOS out of the box. For those who don't know, LineageOS is a popular custom ROM that can be used on various Android devices. It is based on the AOSP version of the operating system, but the team behind it has added their own set of functions and adjusted ROM.
Pro1-X is based on the F(x)tec Pro 1 released last year. It uses a sliding QWERTY keyboard, 5.99-inch FHD+AMOLED display, Snapdragon835 chipset, 8GB RAM, 256GB storage space, 3200mAh battery, and Quick Charge 3.0 support. The front of the phone has an 8-megapixel lens, while the rear has a 12-megapixel f/1.8 lens with a 5-megapixel depth sensor.

The highlight of F(x)tec Pro-1X is that it runs LineageOS right out of the box. XDA pointed out that its main reason for building this phone is to give customers a choice and control over their data, because LineageOS has many privacy-oriented features. In addition to LineageOS, XDA and F(x)tec will also provide customers with the option of obtaining Ubuntu Touch phones. This is the world's first smartphone with a Qualcomm chipset that can run a touch version of Ubuntu. In addition, the team behind the phone is also developing other operating system support for the device, including Sailfish OS.

F(x)tec Pro1-X is estimated to be shipped in March 2021, with a retail price of US$899. However, this device is being crowdfunded on Indiegogo. If you support the project in time, you can get Pro1-X at a price of as low as $599, thereby obtaining one of the early bird machines. However, F(x)tec Pro1-X is not the first smartphone in the world to run with custom ROM out of the box. As early as 2013, OPPO announced the N1 smartphone running CyanogenMod out of the box, CyanogenMod is the predecessor of LineageOS.
